1. LISTEN

Elim Sound’s latest album features live worship from the Elim Leaders Summit in May. Trends emerging in worship music

Post-pandemic, Sam has noticed a number of trends emerging in worship music.

“We’ve seen more songs of lament and people being real with God. They’re more down to earth, saying things like ‘whether you heal me or whether you don’t I’m still going to worship’.

We’re also seeing longer songs coming from places like Elevation and Maverick City that are seven or nine minutes long and with different structures to typical verse-chorus songs.

We’re in a season of transition and change and it’s good to bring something fresh, but in doing so let’s also hold on to the familiar choruses and hymns that help give a full expression of worship.”
