Elim Sound back in the studio

In November 2017, Elim Sound returned to the studio to start recording a new album set for release in 2018.

Nearly two years in the making, this project began by gathering many writers together over two sessions in both Malvern and London. With over 90 song ideas for this album and with 28 writers involved, the team chose the final album tracks through a feedback process.

The album, due out by Easter 2018, will feature 15 new songs that have come from 19 different writers. These new writers include Chris and Abby Eaton, Mark Stone, Lucy Rose Garnish, Suzanne Hanna and Fiona Crow.

Elim Sound also brought in some new voices on the project, including Alex Davis (Cardiff), Shell Perris (Malvern) and Nathan Jess (Portadown, Ireland).

19 writers have been involved in the developing the songs on the new Elim Sound album.

“We believe the timing of this record is really significant,” commented a spokesperson for the project. “The theme of hope in the midst of life's challenges weaves its way through a number of the songs. ”

“The song Still God declares ‘You’re still God, There’s still hope, there’s still life in these bones, I will praise you’ and I Will Not Fear proclaims that ‘You are present in the suffering present in the waiting, Emmanuel, Our God with us. There is purpose in the suffering, purpose in the waiting, Emmanuel, Our God with us.’”

Another key theme on the album is about us being ONE church. The song One is a song about unity, the Trinity and declaring there is ‘One hope, one faith, One joy and one salvation. One Christ, one Cross. One death and resurrection.’

This exciting new album also includes a few ministry songs that are strategically placed to encourage, inspire and help the listener.

Journey Back To Love written by Shell Perris and Chris Eaton is a really moving ministry song that is an honest cry and prayer that asks God to ‘Help me find the freedom I’ve lost along the way, Take me on a journey back to Love.’

This is Elim Sound's most collaborative release to date and brings a collective sound right across our Movement. It is due to be released in April when they lead worship at Spring Harvest.

And if you can't wait until then, check out the live worship album from the Elim Leaders Summit 2017 available on Spotify, Deezer, iTunes, Google Play, Apple Music, Amazon and Elim's online store.
