Unto Him

There are so many distractions, both beautiful and challenging, as we dare to walk a worshipful life. Life is full, fast and ferocious at times but here is the whisper to my heart of late: "Unto Him... Unto Him - what we do, how we live - it's all unto Him!"

The demands of the church calendar, the management of teams and the pursuit of the next worship song can be both thrilling and relentless. Yet it can become all too easy for us to drift into a place of serving these roles rather than harnessing such moments as opportunities to minister unto Him!

Unto who?

Unto what?

Unto where?

It's all unto Jesus!

There is a dynamic exchange available for the child of God if only we would stop for a moment, adjust our view, see the One we minister to afresh and feel the weight of His yoke again.

Heb 12:2  ...fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For it is in seeing Jesus that we realise anew the privilege that it is to serve Him and the bride whom He loves so much! In seeing Jesus again, we can draw afresh from the wealth of His endless provision and resource. In seeing Jesus again, we receive the power to take another bold step: to believe, hope, sing and dream once more.

I wonder is this also the whisper to your heart today, as you prepare for the next worship service, learn that new chord chart or invest in that next team member? Be energised, refreshed and expectant ... It's all UNTO HIM!
